History Est. 1970

The club was established in the 1970’s by Bob Hammond and then taken over by his son Scott Hammond they have been involved in various martial arts for over 90 years between them and have seen the various peaks and troughs of lots of different styles and disciplines over the years They have been trained by various Korean, Japanese and UK masters over the years and have trained extensively in a variety of disciplines such as Tang Soo Do, Tae-Kwon-Do, Karate, Jiu-Jitsu, Kickboxing, Wing Chun and Judo Our club now focuses exclusively in Tae-Kwon-Do and Mixed Martial Arts and we welcome all new members at all levels

Instructors Scott Hammond

Our chief instructor is GM Scott Hammond who now hold an 8th Dan black belt in Tae-Kwon-Do and various black belts in other styles, he has competed at a high amateur level in full contact, semi contact, point fighting and pattern competitions over a long period of time, he now enjoys passing the knowledge of martial arts to his students and has produced lots of high level amateur fighters in both MMA and TKD


Jonathan Norwell

Johnnie is currently a 4th Dan black belt in TKD and a 1st Dan black belt in Freestyle Jiu-Jitsu, he has competed and been victorious in MMA, K1, TKD, Submission Grappling and is a seasoned fighter, he has now taken to teaching and developing his leadership skills whilst maintaining his professional approach to training. He is working hard towards his 5th Dan in TKD
